Sleeping Plumbum

A loop of Plumbum sleeping. It's an animated background for Stefs cat Phillip. He's going to jump on Plumbums tummy. The movie looks a bit blurry, I think it's youtube.

A new scenario

We chose a different story to animate. 'cause of the short time we want a shorter scenario to animate. Here 's the new story :
Philip is climbing on Plumbum. When he stands on Plumbum's tummy he got an idea. He wiggles a bit and then he makes lil' jumps on Plumbum's belly. The jumps are higher and higher. Then Plumbum wakes up, and Phillip don't notice. He keeps on jumping, and when Phil is at his highest point Plumbum stands up and walks away. He doesn't care about Phillips landing. When Phillip falls down and almost touches the ground the screen switch to black and we hear Phil crash and an awfull meeeooooowww!

Scenario

The story so far:
Plumbum is sleeping in the air (he can float). It’s a very deep and peacefull sleep. Until a cat is sneaking towards Plumbum. The cat is curious about the strange creature floating in the air. Plumbum is still sleeping. The cat plays with Plumbums litlle star. Plumbum makes a litlle noise but doesn’t wake up. The cat tries to climb on Plumbum but Plumbum rolls over and moans a litlle harder. The cat falls of and do his wake up dance for Plumbum with a grande finale; a big jump on the belly of Plumbum. Plumbum wakes up with a big scream and a really bad mood. They fight but get so tired of fighting they’ll both end up sleeping.

I'm working together with Steff. Last Thursday we had a video meeting on the internet with the English animation class. It was so much fun and it went well! Some classmates already predicted I would work together with Steff. And it did end up that way =) I like her drawings and her character so it shouldn't be a problem to work together.
We already mailed each other and soon we have a story to animate. Visit her character tina blog and her personal blog.

Making of

We did a workshop about characters with Christa Moesker. We had to create a character in three days and use it for the project. Your character is going to meet the character from Norwich, so it’s an animated confrontation.

Day 1
We showed some pictures of existing characters to each other and told what we thought were good and bad character points. We made a list of them and began sketching our own characters. I decided to make a simple fantasy character in stead of a realistic figure what I usually do.

Day 2
We have discussed the characters and picked one for the project. I choose sort of a night creature. He’s called Plumbum and is generally pleasant, but if you disturb him if he sleeps he’s in a bad mood. I’ve made a character sheet to.

Day 3
We have presented our characters and made of all characters in the class a group photograph. I also made a passport photo range to show his character.
